TESTIMONIAL
In 2014, I applied for a position at Cardinal Spin, a reputable PR company in Sydney, Australia that organized such events as Tropfest and the Sydney Mardis Gras Festival. I wasn’t chosen for the position but I persevered, I asked if I could come and intern for a week. Afterward, Director Amber Forrest-Bisley emailed,
“Cool Charlie, you did really well. You have a natural talent/confidence in communication, and think mainly you just need to up skill on office systems and processes and get enough practice/experience. Once you have developed those things, there’d be no reason why you couldn’t step into a junior PR position if that’s your intention, either with us or another firm.”
The following week I was offered a full-time 6-month junior position. I continued teaching but I was able to show that I could be a positive contribution in the workforce. In my future employment, I would show the same willingness to learn and ability to adapt to a new culture.

one memorable work experience

Secret GardenFestival - Sydney, AUS
Volunteer Assistant Manager and Stage Designer
From 2011 to 2015, I volunteered my time to this amazing festival. To this day, I treasure this moment working alongside such creative people coming together for a common cause.
Fresh farm air filled our lungs every morning, the smell of bacon and eggs luring us from our teepees to the main tent. We worked hard under the Aussie sun, assembling our stages ready for the festival, always with a smile.
Bonfires initiated the night's festivities. We gathered around to unwind and rejoice this moment of togetherness. We listened to each other sing songs, read poems and host fake dating shows (hosted by me!), under countless shining stars.
This feeling of happiness and unity, being part of a worthy cause where everyone was valued and willing to give their all was an experience I'll never forget.
